10 years ago the fabric seat and cover for this swing became unusable. It sat for years with my wife constantly asking me to get rid of it. I knew there was life in the frame and kept putting her off.
Finally, I ripped away the old fabric and cushions, repainted the metal frame, and set about making a new seat and back. I just used basic 1x3 furring strips with 3/4” conduit straps to attach the slats to the metal frame. Finished with a light stain and several coats of spar urethane.
It’s not a work of art like I see others post here, but I made it and I’m happy with it.
